Colnago Bikes

Colnago commenced operation in 1954 by Ernesto Colnago in Milano, Italy. Having an interest in cycling (which would eventually have him land a spot as a road cyclist himself before injuring himself), Ernesto decided to venture away from his families farming history and instead headed in the direction of an industry he was passionate about - bicycles. He initially started out as an apprentice bike mechanic, where he progressed to taking on the role of head bicycle mechanic for Molteni which was the team of Eddy Mercx whilst he was in the stage of becoming and up-and-coming road cyclist.

In the 1960’s through to the 1970’s, Colnago were renowned in creating custom bikes and having a strong history together, was even ridden by Tour De France world champion Eddy Mercx

2016 Colnago C60

The ultimate goal is to improve the bicycle: to make it more efficient, with less rider fatigue and no sacrifice in strength or reliability. The design must be striking. From a marketing standpoint, the frame’s characteristics and technical advantages must stand out and not be completely hidden inside the frame. Star-shaped tubes are a proven design element and have become a signature design element for Colnago frames. It is from this proven design, with the goal of increased frame efficiency without significant sacrifice in comfort or strength, with which the Colnago C60 was born.

In the C60 various cross sections of tubes have increased volume, thinner walls and drastic tube profiles. No attention to detail was spared. The rear dropouts have been completely redesigned for reduced weight and increased lateral stiffness. Even the water bottle mounts were redesigned to reduce weight while maximizing strength.

TheCxZeroEVOis the bike for endurance. A professional level racing frame, proven in the Spring Classics in Europe, theCXZeroEvostrikes a perfect balance between performance and comfort. The most versatileColnagomodel, theCXZeroEvohas been developed to meet the demands of cycling in the greatest range of conditions. “Classic” geometry for fit combines a taller head tube and slightly shorter top tube. This allows a more relaxed position of the shoulders and arms and a more open angle between the torso and thigh for more efficient pedaling during even the longest days in the saddle. The tube shapes of the rear triangle are designed to offer maximum vertical compliance while allowing clearance for up to25mmtires. Theseatpostis a smaller 27.2mm diameter. All of these features promise more rider comfort and less fatigue. Your last mile will be as enjoyable as your first on theCXZeroEvo, on the most epic rides and on the most challenging roads.

First produced in the mid-1980s, the Master is a perennial favourite. It is the fruit of Colnago’s extensive experience in steel tubing, welding, and lugged frame construction techniques. It’s entirely designed, made and chromium plated in Italy with DT15V steel. The Master offers supreme comfort thanks to the ride quality offered by the custom drawn steel tubing. The star-shaped tubes and chromed lugs combined with a 1-inch chrome plated steel Precisa fork make it a classic and truly elegant bicycle that offers a ride unlike anything else. Available in 16 sizes and three colour variations.
